Facts:

AT&T has approved unlocking my old Iphone 4 as I have paid the early termination fee. 

My new Verizon iphone already has all my data on it.  So I do not need to transfer data from the ATT Iphone 4 to my Verizon Iphone 4s.

 

My questions -

 

1) When I restore (to unlock the ATT Iphone) I am given 2 options.  To restore to a) Orig Factory Setting or b) from the old backup?

 

2) Once I complete the restore and the phone is supposably unlocked.   How can I get positive confirmmation that it is actually unlocked?

Restore with iTunes. You can Set Up with Back-Up if you want right there. I like to Set Up as New, myself always. Make sure you Restore, not Update. Keep the old ATT SIM for the Activation Step. At end of Restore Process, iTunes will display a large window saying the iPhone is "Unlocked". Yeah.
