apps stuck in waiting mode iPhone 3G

tried to update words with friends and a couple other apps and now they are stuck in "waiting" mode. Also cant delete them

Same problem. After I updated to OS5.

Please help.

I had the same problem. I tapped on the X to delete the app and tapped Confirm. Then I hard reset the phone (hold down home and on/off buttons until phone restarts and Apple logo appears). Then the app I tried to delete started working.

Turn your iDevice off the back on (or you can alternatively reset it)Make sure you are connected to a wi-fi networkTry and download an app and see if it says 'waiting' (if it does go to step 4)Go into the App Store app on your iDevice and see if you are currently downloading anythingThen Open up the iTunes app on your iDevice, go to 'More', the 'Downloads' and see if anything is thereIf there is download it and if you don't want it you can delete it afterwards (you can't delete it while it is downloadingGo back onto your home screen and your app should be downloading
