Apps Not updating after iOS 5 update iPhone 3G

I recently updated my verizon iPhone 4 to iOS 5. I tried to update 20 apps and they wouldn't update! They would all just say "waiting..." None of them wouldnt load. I discovered that they would load on 3G but they won't load over wifi. I'm starting to regret updating to iOS 5 so soon because it is still very glitchy. Does anybody know why the apps won't update?

I just tried deleting the apps and redownloading them and they still won't load!

no concelation but mine is the same !!!!! my songs wont play either:(

i was having same issues.. mine are syncing now.. turns out my machine wasn't authorized.. i learned this when i tried to play a song.. it told me my machine wasn't authorized for that song.. once i logged in and authorized my computer to play the song i was able to sync my apps as well.. good luck
