some apps got deleted but phone still thinks they are installed and won t let me reinstall them. If I spotlight search they don t show up. I updated my apps and they showed up on screen until update was complete then gone again. Help iPhone 3G

Anybody ever have apps disappear and then not able to re-install them?  I think my son deleted some (ex. Pandora), but when I go to install the app store says it is already installed.  I tried reconnecting to my itunes, but syncing my phone didn't change it.  I updated all my apps, and the Pandora icon showed up and appeared to be updating, but then once the update was complete, its gone again. If I spotlight search, they don't show up either.   I deleted a useless app myself (ex, glow hockey), and then tried to re-install it and I had no problem at all!  But all my great apps (Pandora, Iheart Radio, IMDb, to name a few) and missing from my screen but the app store says they are installed!  I'm so frustrated!!!

I also reset my phone, and that didn't help either.
