i just got a new iphone 4s and sim card in the post from O2 UK, however, when i put the sim card in and try to activate the phone is says the sim is not valid and i should get a sim compatible with iphone.

 

I have another 4s already activated which i use.... on O2 UK as well and in that i'm able to use the sim fine.

 

I've tried to activate it via itunes but again asks me to insert the SIM card which gives the same error.

Activation over wifi is also the same case....

 

Can you help??

Probably your iPhone is locked to a different carrier than the one you want to use. However you can unlock the Phone. For more information about how that works, visit the website of the carrier that the phone is locked to. This might coast up to 99 Euros/Dollars.

Hi,

 

I'm not trying to use a different carrier SIM. Got the phone and the micro SIM from the same carrier, but it still doesn't work

 

Any Ideas? i think i may have to go back to the carrier about this, however the customer service is closed for today.

You could try to restore the iPhone and then try again.

If that doesn't help, only the carrier can help you.
