Do I have to have access to a wifi network to have personal hot spot work?  When I am at home with acces to my personal wifi, my hot spot works fine. When I am at, for example, an airport and I do not have the ability to connect to their restricted wifi networks, my hot spot won't work - even if I have strong signal on my phone for cell data. What's the matter?

Hi, no you shoudln`t have. It`s ought to work on cellular signal. For example I often connect my MacBookPro with hotspot from iPhone via Bluetooth. Only thing is that you have to pair the devices for the first time. If your hotspot doesn`t work with cellular data you have to contact your provider and have them the service allowed.
