Anyone else have this happen? Updated to 3.1 the day it came out, no real issues until today, had 50% battery life, and was using an app on the phone. screen clicked black and was unresponsive, until, I got the phone off/dead battery icon telling me to plug the phone in. Once I plugged it in, phone came back on, and battery sloooowly charging from zero. The instantaneous battery death really troubles me. Has this been a symptom for anyone else?

Installed 3.1 yesterday. Battery will not even last overnight now. Had a number of issues of a full battery draining in less than 2 hours and this with it not in use at all. Random shutdowns but probably due to battery completely dead. No keyboard clicks part of the time. Managed to keep mine going all day today but have had to charge it three times so far.

No more insta-drains as of yet, however I can now literally watch my battery life drain as I use the most basic of features. HUGE difference from 3.0 This friggin *****. My battery is already over a year old, I dont need crap like this killing even more of my remaining charge cycles.

After 4 hours of standby today, my 3g is already down to about 45% battery left with very little use (a little wifi web browsing, etc). Since Ive installed 3.1, battery life has been horrible. Was about 3x better on 3.0.

I had it completely shut down on me almost every time it went to standby mode. Called Apple Support and the guy told me to do a complete phone restore so that it starts from scratch rather than restoring with the original phone backup. It worked fine up until now - shut down randomly again. I really hope they figure it out and release an update to fix this issue.

It is possible to rollback to a previous version. you will need itunes beta 8.2 i think. tysiphonehelp.com should have something on this, or check youtube. all you need is the 3.0 firmware for your device then shift click (on a pc) or control click (on a mac) the restore button in the itunes beta, then select the lower firmware 3.0 or 3.0.1 and let itunes finish the rest. ive done this three different times and works perfectly fine.
