I just recently contacted Sprint in the US because I was having an issue with the data. I did what they said, but I noticed that prior to them assisting me my number on the phone had a "+1" before the area code/number. Now, it does not. I am having a huge issue with iMessage/FaceTime. Would this have anything to do with it?

Someone please let me know? All input is welcome.

No, that is a coincidence. Apple is having server issues, they hope to have them resolved in the next 24 hours, hence your issues with Facetime/iMessage. You'll have to be patient and wait.
