No WIFI or Bluetooth after 3.0 update iPhone 3G

I am one of the victim losing WiFi and Bluetooth (grey out) after OS 3.0 upgrade. I spent hours searching internet and finally recover my WiFi only (but not yet bluetooth). Would like to share if this helps other victims of OS3.0 upgrade.
1. Download iRecovery for Windows 1.3

2. Install both libusb and iRecovery
3. Turn your iphone 3G to Recovery mode

4. Goto c:iRecoveryiRecovery_SVN
5. run iRecovery -s
6. printenv wifiaddr to confirm still 00:00:00:00:00:00
7. setenv wifiaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx - new wifiaddress
8. saveenv
9. fsboot
Now you have your WiFi back to normal.
BTW, my bluetooth is still greyed out. please share any ideas how to enable my Bluetooth in Iphone 3G

I went to the Apple store and they are convinced this is a hardware issue and not due to the update. They replaced the phone. FYI, you HAVE to make an appointment with the Apple store beforehand. After 10 minutes of discussion with the Apple representative she agreed to fit me in, but I waited for 30 minutes.

Had exactly the same problem (update to 3.0, something goes wrong, restore, and no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth). Talked to AT&T customer support. Talked to Apple tech support. Restored, reset times and again on my own and under their supervision, no luck whatsoever. It is two hour drive from my place to the nearest apple store. I opted for the in-mail replacement. They shipped me a new one (overnight), I sent them my old one back. They reserved $500 on my credit card for iphone 3G 8Gb (which I bought from AT&T as an upgrade for $99). If they take the money in the end, I AM GOING TO WAR! Right now Im sitting and waiting for the events to unroll. The phone I got has 2.2.1 software, and I am not going to upgrade anything any time soon.

hi! i really really want to try this - wifi is a lot more useful to me than bluetooth - so i did as told but iRecovery kept saying GOT USB, NO IPHONE/IPOD FOUND, what do i do? my iphone is on dfu and i tried all usb ports already.
