My I phone 4 has no cellular service abroad. I tried all trouble shooting, reset network connection. The I phone does see the carriers but keeps searching and fails to connect. I keep getting message: your cellular data has been lost. I have been in Europe 4 times this year and I have never been able to use iPhone to make calls. Also tried to delete and set up as a new iPhone, to no avail. Software is all up to date
Your phone is carrier locked to your home carrier. To use it abroad, in international roaming mode (expensive!) you have to set this up with your home carrier in advance.
The iPhone was set up with Bell Canada to be able to use abroad. The carrier does not know how to fix the issue
Just tp be clear:
1. You set up an interantional call and data plan with Bell.
2. Roaming is not disabled in the phone settings
3. You are using the same SIM card that works with Bell in Canada.
Yes, all 3 things have been done. Bell told me they have never heard if the issue and apple advised me to delete all settings and set it up as a new I phone. I did all that and just went to Europe and still can not connect to European carriers even though they iPhone shows that they are available
I suspect the problem is with Bell not provisioning your IMEI correctly for international use. Do you sync your phone with iTunes on your computer or iCloud? That's how the carrier settings file created by Bell gets on your phone.
