iPhone software 2.2 beta sports UI tweaks; no pushSome naughty developer must have violated their Apple NDA agreement – tsk, tsk.

A couple of details have begun to trickle out about iPhone 2.2, the next revision to the iPhone/iPod touch software. According to a piece at AppleInsider, Apple has released beta 1 of firmware 2.2 to developers that features a number of small UI tweaks.

  • The Google search field in mobile Safari has been moved to the immediate right of the address bar (pictured). Currently you need to tap the address bar to bring up the Google search field.
  • Apple has also re-organized the App Store slightly with large category icons. They also made the “Tell a Friend” option more prominent and added an equally prominent “Report a Problem” button – presumably to report tethering and flatulence applications that slip through Apple’s screening process.
