Hi all,

 

My wife has an iPhone 4 with which we've been having an issue.

 

If it'd either plugged into Apple charger or a Sony digitasl radio/dock, whilst charging there are no message tones activated if a message is received.

 

Checked and there's nothing in any settings to indicate that it's a turn on/off feature.

 

Last software update was about a week and a half ago, but this has been happening for 3 - 4 months, through a few updates now.

 

Anyone have any ideas? She doesn't want to do a restore, as it takes forever to get it back to the way she wants it. Seems like it shouldn't be that hard anyway, there's no reason it shouldn't work right just as it is.

Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears)

This is quick quick and you don't lose anything.

Tried that one and no change.

 

Strangely, no such dramas with my old 3GS

Did you check Settings > Notification > Messages? Phone?

Also Settings > Sounds > Ringtone? Text Tone?
